Wedding Gazebo at the Secrets Maroma Resort, Mexico

January 10, 2013 By jwrdirector

The Wedding Gazebo

The Wedding Gazebo

by Rabbi Andrea…

Yes, the wedding gazebo is real, the view is real and when the sun sets, it is really beautiful!

How do I know…I, Rabbi Andrea Frank officiated a wedding in the wedding gazebo at this beautiful, all-inclusive resort in Mexico. A 15-20 minutes shuttle ride from the Cancun airport.

The resort’s event planner had her staff tack up the wedding canopy, the chuppah right into the wood ceiling, and as per tradition, the center of the chuppah was not supported.

The wedding couple received their Jewish wedding blessings, recited their vows, exchanged rings, and shared the wine as per tradition.

Candlelit lanterns lighted the way for the couple’s sunset, after sundown, after Shabbat concluded the wedding ceremony. When the sunset completed, the candlelight provided a simply elegant feel as all the guests made their way to the outside reception on the property.

It almost seems a fantasy in photos, but when you experience it in person, it is simply breath-taking.

The entire resort was a delight to share this special time in my couple’s life. Two become one in marriage.
