Time of Jewish Wedding Ceremony?

Sunset for Jewish Wedding Ceremonies
Havdalah observed ends Shabbat on Saturday

If Sunset is 7:08pm on a Saturday evening, what time can the ceremony begin?

Reply from Rabbi Andrea Frank:

Traditionally, 1 hour soon after Havdalah was observed.

Best Answer:

Check with the Rabbi that is officiating your ceremony. It is based on when the Rabbi will officiate soon after sunset or wait the traditional time frame.

There is a custom that guests will arrive, enjoy the cocktail hour before, then the ceremony, then the reception.

This takes care of your guests; observing the traditional time-line of Shabbat if that is the only way the Rabbi you are using will officiate.
