Purim Costumes Ideas - Day 4 of the Countdown
Purim Costumes Ideas – Day 4 of the Countdown

Purim Costumes Ideas

don’t have to be store bought for this festival.   So, Day 4 is quite close to the start of the Purim Festival, 14 Adar, in the evening at sundown.  No worries, Rabbi Andrea Frank, the Jewish Wedding Rabbi found some easy, no fret, Purim Costumes Ideas and Crafts.
Note: For those that may not know about the Jewish Calendar, Shabbat, holidays, festivals, special observance days, big or small, begin in the evening at sundown.

Purim Masks Crafts
Your in luck, I found AlphaMom printable Purim Masks for wonderful Purim Costumes Ideas .  They are colorful, quite impressive too and simple to print.  Hopefully, you have a color printer. If not, add a little color with a marker or crayons to your black and white printable Purim Mask.  To navigate the page and find the Links to the Printable Purim Masks, scroll down the page and look for red text.  They are the main characters to the Purim Story.  Click each red text link.  It will open a new page with the printable mask.  Use a thicker paper and or glossy photo paper which will add a sheen to the mask.  Follow the instructions to make it a free holding mask.  Enjoy!    For those that also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, I see on this web site some craft ideas as well.  This holiday follows Purim.

Pillowcases
Do you have those mismatched pillowcases you use on occasion, but sit in the linen closest?  Before you decide to use them as a dust rag, use them to a make a tunic.  Using scissors, cut a half circle on the long end, sewn side.  On each side, cut a half circle for the arms.  Or cut the entire sides open, making is an open sided tunic.  Optional: add a belt.  The men wore something like a tunic in the Purim Story.

Don’t forget sandals as it was a little warm in Shushan Land.

King and Queen Crowns
Any crowns hanging around the house?  (smiles)
No, get creative and make them!
Add some shiny jewelry to be a Queen and a King needs his royal robe.

Purim Haman 3- Cornered Hat
1 – For those masked men and women, girls and boys wanting to wear a 3-cornered hat like the villain, Haman, now they can. See below this easy 9 step craft project. Photos below. Use any type paper that will not tear easily. In the photos below, card stock was used. Decorate it to dress it up for a festival.

Another ‘Hat’ Idea
2 – Do you have sun hats in the house?  It’s that easy.  Pull up the wide rim of the sun hat to create 3-corners and tack them together.  There you go – easy!
