Why Round?
It is the cycle of the year as it returns each year as a continuous circle. This will be the one time we enjoy a round challah bread to the traditional 3-braided or 6-braided long challah bread shape.
Why Braids?
It is all symbolic with quite a few interpretations as braids are about the togetherness. 3-braids is the common braided challah bread shape, we often enjoy. The six-braids is the look and design from most challah bakers. For Rosh Hashanah, you take the same braids and create a round challah bread.
When to enjoy Challah?
Challah is a part of every Shabbat, holiday, and celebrate. Such as Jewish weddings, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Baby Naming. Passover is the only time we don’t have challah bread but rather Matzah. Holidays include the major holidays and even the minor ones. When there are leftovers, the well known Challah French toast meal and recipe is popular.
Why it is so important?
Bread is the first food the Israelites ate when they traveled in freedom. The commencement of their 40-year journey toward the promised land. A cracker, and bread like food known as manna. Bread is a type of food that is sustainable. Consider the various ways in which bread can be utilized.
Upon blessing bread with wine, we begin by saying ‘thank you’. The ingredients for a challah recipe are simple: flour, salt, water, yeast, eggs, sugar, or honey, and oil.
