Baby Naming Ceremony, its Jewish

The Baby Naming Ceremony, Its Jewish

Click to view all about the naming Ceremonies

Fond memories of the baby naming ceremony for the daughters per Jewish tradition and custom.  For the parents give their sons and daughters their first formal Jewish ceremony.  Why a baby naming ceremony? Parents take the steps and start their children with their Jewish identity.  The custom is to give them a Hebrew Name.  The Hebrew Name is often after a beloved family member from the family tree.  The reason this became part of the custom is to keep the memory of that special person alive in future generations.  Jewish teaching is about never forgetting and always connected to our ancestors.  The family tree builds the family, the future generations create each tree to blossom.

A baby naming ceremony creates a moment for the family. All ages.  It brings everyone together from the everyday routine. For that moment it creates a sense of pride and joy.  The combining of the joy of a new life, the gift of a child.  The pride for one’s faith.  Knowing the customs and traditions are being passed down.

The baby naming ceremony is not fitted into the everyday routine and schedule.  It is raised up of importance.  It is one of the most beautiful life cycle ceremonies of Judaism.
